FORUM 2 (WEEK 2)

"Design adds value faster than it adds costs." -- Joel Spolsky, web programmer, writer, and creator of Trello. Sometimes we heard people say, "why should I pay for design? ANYONE can design..." The idea of design is always being narrowed-down with statements saying that design is simply an action that ANYONE can do. How do we, as designers can over come that?

I agree will everyone can be design, but not everyone will be know the technical of the design, construction, and other functions. This is why, when some people don’t consider designers to successfully perform good functions for the space/product/service, provide comfort and contribute to creating a meaningful experience, some people think that design is just an easy task . But before designing, designers have to consider many factors, such as product space, materials, target users, activities, etc. These problems will affect the way designers communicate with all aspects of things, and propose and solve better solutions for the design, so this is not something everyone can do. For example, when some users are satisfied with a certain design, they usually don't think about the process behind the creation and feel that the design is very good without any complaint. However, when they complain that the design is done poorly, they will point out all of the mistakes with the design and have to avoid this happening. Therefore, design is professional, not everyone can do it professionally, and it is very important for every process that designers do to achieve design quality. It will influence our thoughts, feelings and decisions, and create more different experiences for users. This is also the most positive way for designers to achieve their goals.
